Indiana University optimizes computer science curriculum with best practice support
Indiana University 2023
CHALLENGE
Increase participation and understanding among students.
Looking to increase participation in their computer science courses, The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University (IU) partnered with Kapeer to optimize their existing curriculum. With an overall goal of reducing the number of students that dropped computer science courses or the major altogether, IU needed an expert in evidence-based practices to advance their lessons for greater participation and understanding.
SOLUTION
IU partnered with Kapeer to examine the overall learning experience in their existing computer science curriculum.
By focusing on best practices for increasing learner comprehension and understanding, and making more tools for building self-efficacy into the curriculum, Kapeer optimized the existing computer science lessons to better support the modern learner.
RESULTS
As a result of working with Kapeer–
IU has noticed positive changes in learner participation and behaviors. Professors of Computer Science noted that the changes and optimizations to their lessons help make their content more accessible to all students. As IU continues to implement changes based on their partnership with Kapeer, they are confident that their curriculum is creating more opportunities for all students to learn and succeed.
